Gary Brookes Memorial Steam and Vintage Fair. It took a very unique person to have the vision, the passion, the energy and the expertise to create something as special as what we have here at the Dardanup Heritage Park. Gary Brookes was that unique person. Gary was always happiest when he was out at an event sharing and showing off his beautifully restored machinery. It is therefore very fitting that this annual event held in his memory is an action packed day. The day features working steam engines, vintage earthmoving machinery and tractors. With a special feature of veteran and vintage stationary engines including the Old Machinery Clubs magnificent engines. We are very grateful to WAPRES who every year sponsor ''The WAPRES Woodcutters Carnival''.Our day wood not be complete without this magnificent log chopping event. The Indian Harley Club always present a very interesting collection of bikes. See model truck, tractor and train displays and the very entertaining model remote control trucks in action. The ladies are not forgotten with beautiful lace making and craft displays. An extensive military display, sheep shearing (blade and machine), antique dairy display. We have excellent groups of woodturners and blacksmiths who will be demonstrating all day. Our working heritage print shop will take you back many years. We are delighted to also have a team of bullocks being worked. If you haven't seen the three wheeled Bell Loggers in action then this is your chance they put on a great show. There will be so much more and I will add to this list soon, in the mean time add this day to your diary.
