Some of the worlds smallest and biggest bulldozers will line up for a giant bulldozer push at a century of Earthmoving field Day at the Dardanup heritage park on Sunday. A Ransomes bulldozer, used in market gardens and weighing less than one tonne, will line up alongside the 50tonne Euclid bulldozer, affectionately known as the Jolly Green Giant. The Euclid is on permanent display at the heritage park and was the biggest bulldozer in the world when it was manufactured in 1955. The park is also hoping to display a 100-tonne D11 Bulldozer, which is used throughout the South West by local earthmoving Catalanos. The century of earthmoving field day will showcase the world-class collection of machinery at the heritage park. The day will include tractor and trailer rides and demonstrations of tractor ploughing , stationary engines, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing and post and rail fencing. The Brookes family, which owns the park, established an annual memorial day last October in honour of its founder, Gary Brookes. The day attracted more than 2500 people and its success prompted the family to organise two annual events with another to take place early every year. The Dardanup Heritage Park is on Moore Rd in Dardanup. Gates open at 9am and close at 4pm. |
